How conventional are the music videos to the genre? Discuss a pair of music videos you have studied?(4)

From viewing little mix's music 'black magic' it is evident to see many pop conventions. An example of this is the narrative within their music video their is a storyline where they turn from geeks to popular girls this alines with the genre of pop as by the end of the music video they have become popular and most people who watch/ listen to the pop genre aspire to be popular.

Additionally, within the vamps music video 'somebody to you' there is a clear focus and main screen time on the band. This reflects the pop genre as in pop music videos usually the main focus and most screen time is on the singer, as the vamps is a band they each have their own close ups and equally shared time on screen as a result the fans can have their own moments with their favourite band member.

  2. artists happy enjoying life
  3. lyrics love and relationships
  4. target things teens would like
  5. music genre is usually conveyed through video dressing and setting
  6. pop songs are usually 3-5 mins long with set structure and consistent beat
